Disappearing Acts is a beautifully illustrated search-and-find book. Each page features a densely detailed landscape: rainforest, savannah, coral reef, and more. Within these landscapes are hiding threatened species such as the Adelie penguin, elephant, panda, and snow leopard, and children are invited to search the picture to find each one. Alongside each illustration run descriptions of the animals, their numbers, their habitats, and why they are endangered. At the back of the book an index of animals provides further context. Isabella Bunnell’s warm, intricate watercolors provide a delightful way to learn about our planet’s rich diversity and fragile ecosystems.
This most stunning search-and-find book of endangered animals is a complete gem.Not only will you undoubtedly learn about some endangered species you never knew existed, but you'll have much fun along the way spotting them all! @picturebooksblogger This beautifully illustrated book from Cicada books will teach both you and your children all about the endangered animals and eco-systems in which they live. As you turn each colourful page you have to search and find the animals that are hiding within their habitats. When you have finished finding all the animals you can learn about them with detailed information such as where they are located, how many in that species remain and why they are endangered. @littlesleepybird Vibrantly illustrated, this is an important book that all children should read. Hopefully it won't become a catalogue of extinct animals, but it really is books like these that raise awareness in the people we need to educate the most--the children who will inherit the perilous habitats we are leaving behind. @kids-bookreview.com Disappearing Acts is a unique take on search and find book, where kids search for endangered animals lurking in wonderfully detailed scenes.@Anorakmagazine
